Russian Billionaire Installs Anti-Photo Shield on Giant Yacht
The 557-foot boat Eclipse, the price tag of almost $1.2 billion, set sail this week with a slew of show-off features, from two helipads, two swimming pools and six-foot movie screens in all guest cabins, to a mini-submarine and missile-proof windows to combat piracy and, an anti-paparazzi “shield” picked by Bornbad 2 months ago

Missile-proof... windows...?

Surely such a thing cannot, in good conscience, be real.

1.2 billion?

Geez, is it nuclear powered?

Or does it burn gold for propulsion?

Isn't this the same guy that lost a yacht in a game of poker a while back? I remember posting a news article about that here a while back.

Pretty cool though if it really works. It seems a bit hard to realise though. I mean those lasers have to scan every tiny little space a camera lens might be, and shoot into the lens BEFORE the split-second it takes a camera to snap a photo...

It's actually such a simple concept that I'm surprised it's taken this long to implement.

My boss does much the same thing when taking dance photos since there's always one or two moms who won't purchase anything and stand behind him with a point and shoot to snap a picture of the group once he has them posed.

Their cameras set his slave light off, which completely overexposes their photos.

What's really cute is when they don't take the hint and ask him to turn it off.

Any sentence containing the word “intermeddling” is of course wonderful.

Maybe.

But he'd better hope that any missles fired at him don't miss the windows and hit the ship.
