I use Firefox almost exclusively and I've got some brilliant add-ons that help loads with posting on Plime ect.

I just wondered what browsers everyone else uses, why you use it and what you like/dislike about them.

This was kind of inspired by a week long off and on conversation with one of my friends who was convinced that it didn't matter what browser you used (he was using IE) until I convinced him to try Firefox and he loves it.

Seriously though, what browsers got a better logo than this ;)

Firefox with Worthkeys, Session Saver and Adblock. I love the tabs, I love that it keeps my last session, I love Worthkeys. I haven't checked recent add-ons but I used to have one that would scoop up movies and images from any page you were on.

I loved that there wasn't a steep learning curve off of i.e. (though it's been a few years since I used i.e. with regularity).

The downside is it's a memory hog but I have 3g of memory so that's not an issue anymore.

The amount of times "restore last session" has saved me from losing stuff I'm doing or pages I haven't yet bookmarked!

A brilliant add-on I use a lot is Snipshots
It adds a right-click image edit option. Just right-click on any image and you can edit it and get a url in seconds. Really good for posting pictures on Plime and other sites.

I love firefox, and I have to thank my friend Stephanie for making me switch over. I'm not currently at my house, and I won't be until Sunday, so I can't tell you which add ons I have. I do have one that synchronizes my bookmarks, so I can have them on any computer, I have adblock, and that's about all I can remember off of the top of my head.

I use Firefox with Adblock Plus, WorthKeys, SessionSaver, Greasemonkey(normally disabled), ReloadEvery(great for checking when Plime's back up), IE Tab, and Download Statusbar.

Another one for Firefox here - Mostly using FF3 now, and it's better still.

I use Opera from time to time, but that's only ever briefly, but that's usually a mental organisation thing than any functionality concerns - Opera, these days, just seems too fussy for me. It's like an aged spinster aunt who is very proper about everything.

Another thing about Firefox I'd mention here - I've been championing it for a while, and no-one who I have persuaded to switch to Firefox has gone back to IE.

I did, for a while, try the XP port of Safari, and it was a pretty sucky experience. One thing it really does exceed Firefox in though is memory usage, but hogging 3 times as much memory as Firefox is not something many would wish to lay claim to.

Other than that, I like the versatility of Konqueror, but it really isn't very often that I need to flip from the internets to a location on my HD in one window.

On a few unfortunate occasions, Lynx has saved my skin - it's a text only browser that runs from the command line; not a lot of use generally, but if you've lost your desktop and need to check for a solution on line you fall in love with it, mind body and soul.

I was waiting until the final version of FF3 is released before I installed. Is it worth using it now or is it pretty buggy still?

I was wary too until I discovered the Portable Edition.

The idea is that you install it on a memory stick and it runs from there, but if you want to you can install it on your hard drive in a folder other than where your regular FF is and then you have both, neither affecting the other.

It's quite clever really.

Certainly worth trying to see the goodness that is to come in the final release version.

(Kudos, BTW, to 2Many for posting the article about this in the news section that lead me to it).

When I'm at work, it's IE because I have no choice.

At home, on my wonderful orange lappy, I use Firefox.

So far everyone uses FF. This is interesting, I think, maybe.

I can't see backgrounds on FF for some reason, so I need to head to Opera for that type of thing.

I use Firefox as well, as a developer if you don't use firefox + firebug then I guarantee you will be slow as s**t.

The hardest issues to debug are IE only ones, then I can't use firebug and it always takes way longer...plus IE is just annoyingly finnicky sometimes.
